The InvisibleSHIELD is not just a screen protector, but covers the pretty much the entire device, with the iPod it covers almost 99% of the scratch prone exterior. One of the unique things about this product is their guarantee, if it ever scratches, they will replace it for free! Another nice thing that caught my eye is the bonus that they offer free shipping, even to Canada, which is rare to find.
The InvisibleSHIELDs came shipped in a bubble envelope, individually packaged in plastic clamshells, with the shields, a bottle of SHIELDspray application spray, instructions, and a small squeegee to smooth out the bubbles and press the liquid out.
The first thing I noticed when receiving the InvisibleSHIELDs is that both of the bottles of the included "SHIELDspray" had leaked into the packages, I figured this was not a big deal, as spraying liquids around my expensive electronics was not my idea of fun anyway. I started with applying the Nintendo DS kit, and quickly realized that without adequate liquid, things went wrong quickly, as a managed to get fingerprints all over the top screen protector, and eventually ended up ruining it, but I replaced it with another one I purchased previously. I then took a step back, went to the ShieldZone website and watched one of their application videos ( I highly recommend it, it clears things up tremendously), then continued with the rest of the DS. The rest of the shield went on without a hitch, providing scratch protection for about 80% of the surface of the DS, the bottom part only covers the screen, and the outside parts cover almost all of the glossy parts, even the two small squares on the front. I found it really hard to take pictures during the installation process, so as a result I only have pictures of the finished product. You can see from the pictures below of the Nintendo DS Lite, it is really hard to see the Invisible Shield.
I used both of the partial bottles of SHIELDspray with the DS, so I sent an email to ShieldZone explaining that the bottles had leaked in transit, and they were nice enough to send me 4 bottles for free!!
Fast forward a week, and 4 new bottles arrived with liquid intact (although they did mark the value on the customs form as $50, luckily Canada Post let it slip by), and I sat down to apply the InvisibleSHIELD to my coveted 80GB iPod. I was very skeptical once again about dousing my baby in liquid, but following the instructions, and only spraying only the Invisible Shield and my fingers, I was able to successfully apply the Shield in only 15 minutes or so. I have to say I am very impressed so far, as you can see by the pictures below, it went on very smooth and bubble free, and they promise that it will actually get more transparent over time. It's fairly hard to take pictures of the Invisible Shield, but on the top and the bottom you can see the small parts that it doesn't cover.
I did notice that some of the smaller bubbles were actually easier to remove after I had let the iPod sit for 30 mins, not sure if this is due to it drying a bit, or just persistence.
All in all I would have to say that the InvisibleSHIELD is well worth the money, it provides almost complete coverage on a lot of devices, and their guarantee is hard to beat. I really like not having a bulky case around my iPod, the case that I had previously, although nice, almost doubled the thickness of my iPod.
